Labor Federation, Chlorine Group to Hold Preliminary Talks

ARCC is pleased to note that substantive labor-management discussions about chlorine chemistry issues could take place at the international level beginning in 1997.

The International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM - a worldwide federation of labor unions representing 20 million workers) has decided to hold a preliminary meeting with the representatives of the Chlorine Chemistry Council (CCC - representing U.S.-based chlorine chemistry companies). ARCC unions are expected to play a key role. Many ARCC union participants are U.S. affiliates of the ICEM.
